Easily fitting in your climbing pack to pull out for the descent into icy wind at the end of the day, but with the crucial warm-when-wet performance of synthetic insulation for alpine conditions. It’s ultralight nylon ripstop shell has a water-resistant endurance coating to keep the elements out. The cut is generous, fitting over extra layers or a harness racked with of gear, but with elasticised stitching on the lined side panels to pull the jacket toward the body, keeping in heat. The zippered hand warmer and single chest pocket are roomy, and two internal mesh pockets allow for insulated storage of crucial items such as your spare gloves or thermos. The hood fits over an alpine helmet or hat and adjust with a single pull to keep the wind and spindrift off your neck. The front zipper is two-way for ease of access to your belay loop and is backed with an internal wind flap. Elasticised cuffs are easily pushed up for working with tools overhead and feature optional thumb loops for pulling the sleeves over the hands for extra warmth.
